Competiton Squad
We have a hardworking competitive squad that work towards County Competitions as well as Regional & National Competitions, if the gymnasts qualify for them, alongside British Gymnastics National Development Plan Grades. All our Development Squad and Competitive Squad gymnasts are actively encouraged to support each other within training classes and at competitions.
St Albans Gymnastics Club Competitive Squad is for gymnasts who show a talent for the sport and will be specifically selected, then invited to trial for a place within the Squad by the Head Coach, Richard Wilson.
Please note that any squad trial is strictly invitation only.
About Women's Artistic Gymnastics
This is the most popular discipline of Gymnastics in the UK and one of the biggest crowd pleasers at every Olympic Games since 1928. The sport demands body control, body awareness, suppleness, stamina, coordination, amplitude and courage.
Routines are performed on 4 pieces of apparatus: Vault, Uneven Bars/Assymetric Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise.
